The cheetah is the fastest land animal, capable of speeds up to 70 mph because of their extraordinary spinal flexion and extension. It has been calculated that if a racehorses possessed similar spinal flexlibility they could potentially achieve ground speeds up to 90 mph.

With this sculpture, I wanted to capture the cheetah's motion together with their amazing agility and balance.

National Geographic filmed the beautiful running action of a cheetah in slow-mo. I used this video extensively while sculpting this piece. Take a look. I think you'll find it interesting.
